주민의 힘으로 만드는 변화, 양동면 ‘감자심기’, ‘시가지 및 석곡천 정화사업’

양동면 주민자치위원회(위원장 장미경)와 양동면 지역사회보장협의체(위원장 이학두) 회원 30여 명이 지난달 29일 면사무소 인근 텃밭에서 감자심기 행사와 시가지 및 석곡천 정화사업을 전개했다.

이번 행사는 직접 농사를 체험하며 공동체 의식을 함양하고, 석곡천 산책로 정화를 통해 주민들에게 쾌적한 보행 환경을 제공하고자 추진됐으며, 석곡천에는 식재된 개복숭아의 시비 및 전지작업이 병행됐다.

이날 참여자들은 감자 심기에 앞서 농사 전문가로부터 감자 심는 방법과 재배 과정에 대한 설명을 듣고, 팀을 이뤄 어려운 이웃들에게 나눌 감자를 정성스럽게 심었으며, 시가지와 석곡천 주변의 쓰레기를 치웠다.

장미경 자치위원장은 "주민들이 참여하며 자연과 가까워지고, 서로 협력하며 공동체의 가치를 되새길 수 있는 자리였다"며 "주민들이 함께 어우러질 수 있는 다양한 프로그램을 마련해 지역발전에 기여하겠다"고 말했다.

이에 정창업 면장은 "행사에 참여한 주민자치위원들과 지역사회보장협의체 위원들의 노고에 감사드린다"며 "주민의 힘으로 변화를 만들어 나가는 자치 실현을 위해 양동면 차원에서도 적극 협력하고 노력하겠다"고 말했다.

한편 이날 식재한 감자와 개복숭아는 수확을 통해 취약계층에게 기부하거나 판매를 통해 나온 수익금으로 공동체 나눔 문화를 위해 사용할 계획이다.
