GM대우 양평점 오픈…이미지 쇄신·공격적 마케팅 선언

GM대우자동차 양평지점(지점장 임상목. 이하 GM대우)이 ‘이미지 쇄신을 통한 공격적 마케팅’을 선언하며, 양평읍 시가지에 상륙했다.

GM대우는 지난 8월 초순, 기존 영업소의 영업마인드 및 기능을 대폭 보완하고, 정통적인 경험에 의한 정신무장을 앞세워 양평지역 자동차판매 시장에 본격 합류, 국내 3대 자동차 메이커의 자부심을 다시금 되찾을 태세다.

본사 차원의 전폭적인 지원으로 양평읍 공흥리 KT삼거리 인근에 새 단장한 GM대우는 외곽에 위치한 영업소를 시가지 인근으로 전진 배치한데다 5대의 차량을 전시 할 수 있는 240㎡의 규모의 지점을 확보, 신차 정보제공에 주력하고 있다. 

특히 면밀한 사전 시장조사에 따라 지역특성에 맞는 주력상품을 1000㏄급 마티즈크리에이티브와 1800㏄급 준중형 라세티 프리미어로 정한 GM대우는 연간 500대로 추산되는 판매목표 달성을 위해 관내 12개 읍·면을 대상으로 한 신규고객 창출에 매진키로 했다.

이는 신규면허 취득자와 전철을 이용한 도심 출퇴근 운전자, 배달업 사업자 등 세컨드 자동차의 신규 수요와 정부의 녹색성장 방침에 따른 관공서의 경차구매가 보편화 될 것이라는 판단에 따른 것으로 분석된다.

또한 소득 향상에 따른 레저인구 급증에 맞춰 2000㏄급 SUV 윈스톰과 항시 4균 구동인 윈스톰 맥스, 출시 예정인 3000㏄급 알페온도 타사 경쟁 차종과 어깨를 나란히 할 수 있도록 소비자의 시승기회를 확대해 나갈 계획이다.     

아울러 오는 2011년 전체 차종을 수출형 브랜드인 씨보레로의 변경키로 한 본사의 방침에 따라 직원수급을 비롯한 직영시스템 보완은 물론 판매대수의 일정부분을 지역사회에 환원하는 장기적 경영방침을 도입, 기업 이미지 쇄신을 선도할 방침이다. 

더욱이 내년도 브랜드 변경과 직수입을 통한 사활을 건 한판 승부가 예고된 시점에서 단기적 측면의 영업 마케팅이 필요하다고 판단, 소비자의 신차 무료 시승기회 확대 및 전시차량 다량 보유 등 본사 차원의 적극적인 지원을 이끌어 내고 있다.

임상목 지점장은 “경차의 대명사인 마티즈는 고강도 철판을 사용, 유럽 테스트에서 별 4개 등급을 받았다”며 “라세티 역시 독일의 GM 모델을 그대로 적용한 바디로 실내가 크고 외부가 단단하며 6단변속기 탑재로 드라이빙 감이 매우 뛰어나다”고 강조했다.

그는 또 “대우자동차는 다 그래. 라며 내용은 들여다보지 않고 얼굴만 보고 평가하는 소비자의 반응이 가장 안타까웠다”며 “이 같은 소비자의 불신을 해소하기 위해 한걸음 더 소비자 앞으로 다가서는 친근하고 적극적인 영업마인드로 양평의 자판 시장에 승부를 던지겠다”고 덧붙였다.

내수 판매 부진과 유동성 위기로 저마다 다이어트에 나서고 있는 국내 자판 시장.

사업장 규모와 직원 채용 확대는 물론 영업 마인드 개선을 통한 공격적 마케팅에 나선 GM대우의 사활이 걸린 한판 승부에 시선이 쏠리는 이유다.
